What are You Doing New Year's ... New Year's Eve?

We're staying home, warm and cozy ... with a fire in the wood stove, feline companions, and the Christmas lights on!   It's COLD here in Minnesnowta!

Not only is it New Year's Eve today, it's also my and my husband's wedding anniversary!   It's kind of a special one; it's our 31st anniversary on December 31st.  I looked all over the internet to see if there was a name for this anniversary, like a 'golden birthday' is celebrated when a person is the same age as the date.  Although I couldn't find any official name, my friend Kathleen came up with a great one ... a ROYAL anniversary!  That sounds perfect to me. Now where is my tiara .....?    It's hard to believe that it's been 31 years since these young kids who didn't even know each other said "I Do."  Now we're just two old fogies who don't want to go out in the cold!

Of course, lots of people love to go out and ring in the New Year in style.  Music, dancing, good times with good friends, fancy duds and bling, and watching that glittery ball drop down at midnight. I've been thinking of fancy and bling and glittery lately too, but in the jewelry sense, naturally.  As you may know, I belong to a group (BSue Boutiques Creative Group) online that has monthly jewelry creation challenges, and the theme for December was "metallic, pearl, and crystal."   That theme is my favorite, so I dug out some pretties and jumped right in.

Two of the classic-looking necklaces are awaiting some dangles, and I'll share them soon.  This one, I must show you today, since it's kind of time-sensitive.   I LOVE how it turned out!  I call it "What are You Doing New Year's Eve" ... and just like the song, to me it tells the story of almost midnight on New Year's Eve and love.  What story does it tell you ....?

The new year will bring many new things for Novegatti Designs, among them a major challenge/master class for me, and of course new designs for you!  Wishing everyone the best and happiest New Year you've ever had, and leaving you with this song ...   See you next year!
